I’ve always gravitated toward fantasy because storytelling through art still has power. It’s an outlet that allows me to step into new worlds and explore what it would actually feel like to stand alongside a small force of medieval soldiers preparing for an invasion.

This piece is rooted in the high fantasy universe of Heritage of Loss by Arden Emil. When I originally painted this, the story was still unpublished, and the goal of the project was pure world-building—taking the rich lore of the book and anchoring it in a cinematic, epic visual reality. I am incredibly excited to share that the novel is now officially published and out in the world.

I hope you enjoy watching the creation process, and that it serves as a reminder that fantasy still belongs in the modern world. If you have the desire to bring your own imagination into physical reality, I hope this inspires you to start creating.
