Heritage of Loss — Custom Leatherbound Edition

This project serves as a one-of-a-kind custom leatherbound edition created exclusively for Arden Emil, the author of the dark fantasy novel Heritage of Loss.

The focus of this project was to take the published novel and physically transform it into an authentic artifact that looks and feels like a tome pulled directly from the world of the story. Designing the cover required diving into the deep lore and early visual development of the universe, incorporating specific hidden symbols and iconography—such as the symbol of Anoth—into the gold foil design to provide a definitive visual gateway into the narrative.

Creating the leatherbound edition itself involved completely rebinding the original text block, applying heat-transfer foil, weathering the materials for an aged aesthetic, and building a custom velvet-lined presentation box. The goal was to ensure the physical book carried the same epic, cinematic weight as the high fantasy lore inside.
