I decided that my creative studio, much like Gryffindor Tower, needed a guardian—one that only opens when you give her the password.
This is my own original take on the Hogwarts 'Fat Lady' portrait, painted specifically to turn my ordinary office entrance into a secret door portal. I digitally painted this piece, printed it on a massive canvas, and built a full Gothic arch and carved stone wall around it to completely sell the illusion. Because my current capabilities don't allow me to install a fully sentient portrait, I hooked up a smart lock system behind the scenes that unlocks the door via voice command (or a hidden keypad behind a miniature painting for when I'm feeling impatient).
To live creatively is to resist apathy, and to build is to believe that imagination still matters. This piece was all about turning an everyday space into a fantasy artifact, and proving that a little bit of magic can still exist in the modern world.
